Hospital Security Officer (Part-Time)

The City of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, is accepting applications for the position of Part-time Security Officer.

Job Summary:  Maintain security at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital, minimize disruptions, respond to emergencies to provide security for staff/patients/facilities, coordinate with police department responding to emergencies at hospital, provide escort services and assistance to employees/visitors, report safety hazards/property damage, check facilities after hours, and prepare reports.  24/7 shift schedules. 

The position requires HS diploma/GED.  Associates Degree in police/criminal justice or related field or relevant experience may be substituted and is preferred.  General knowledge of principles/practices of security work and ability to understand/carry out oral/written directions also required.  Valid Minnesota Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record.  No prior criminal record or history.  Experience dealing with the public.  Good communication skills.  Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and on short-notice.  Compliance with vaccination policies will apply.  Law Enforcement students are strongly encouraged to apply. 

2025 Hourly Salary Range:  $18.2349 (working 0-100 hours)

                                                        $23.0821 (more than 100 hours) 

Summary of Benefits:          This position is not benefit eligible.
