Summer Internship Posting
Are you a college student looking for an exciting summer internship in public safety? The City of Grand Rapids is seeking a qualified college student for a paid internship for the summer of 2025. Selected applicant will work up to 40 hours per week for 13 weeks and receive $18.00 an hour. The internship will run from June 2, 2025, through August 29, 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grand Rapids Police Department’s summer internship program offers an up to 13-week paid internship opportunity with the Grand Rapids Police Department. The internship program is a combination of mentoring, learning activities, and project work designed to give broad exposure to the Police Department. The assignment will consist of projects that provide practical and challenging experiences.
As an intern, you will complete various tasks and projects in a timely manner with high attention to detail. You will actively participate in community outreach and interact with members of the police department as well as members of the community.

Summer Internship Dates:
Start Date/End Date: June 2, 2025, through August 29, 2025 (Dates are flexible).
Compensation:
The internship will consist of up to 40 hours per week and the compensation shall be $18.00 per hour.
Note: The hours per week can be flexible and tailored towards the intern. We want to see our interns have a great experience.
