National Night Out

The Grand Rapids Police Department, along with other area emergency service agencies and local businesses, has been active in National Night Out since 1997. This event is held annually at the Central School grounds. There are many static displays and fun activities for those of all ages.

The purpose of National Night Out is to build relationships and share crime prevention strategies. National Night Out is always held on the first Tuesday in August.

National Night Out is dedicated to the development and promotion of various crime prevention programs, including neighborhood watch groups, law enforcement agencies, state and regional crime prevention associations, businesses, civic groups, and individuals devoted to safer communities.
