The City provides its residents and businesses a full range of municipal services related to public safety (police and fire), public works, parks and recreation, development, and administrative services.  The City operates an ice arena, golf course, and library. These services are provided by quality staff, including 87 full-time and part-time employees, 30 paid-on-call (volunteer) firefighters and 138 seasonal and temporary workers (mostly in recreational programs).

Public Services Clerk-Circulation:

The City of Grand Rapids is seeking afull-time Library Public Services Clerk to perform intermediate administrative support work providing customer service at the circulation desk of the library, circulating materials to customers, maintaining serials records and processing serials, processing acquisitions and related work as apparent or assigned.  Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, computer skills, excellent communications skills and experience in a customer service setting, preferably in a library along with basic knowledge of library practices, procedures and techniques, and regulations and policies pertaining to library services.  40 hours per week, weekend and evening work is required.  Starting salary is $18.72 per hour.
