Grand Rapids Area Library and the Reif Center are pleased to announce another summer installment of Indies @ the Reif Tuesdays in July Showtime for all films is 7:00 pm in the Ives Theater. Intended for adult audiences.  For more information, visit reifcenter.org  We hope to have these films for check-out later in the summer.

A courtroom drama centered around the murder of a factory president.

I Am Not A Witch 7/23

Following a banal incident in her local village, 8-year old girl Shula is accused of witchcraft. After a short trial she is found guilty, taken into state custody and exiled to a witch camp. At the camp she takes part in an initiation ceremony where she is shown the rules surrounding her new life as a witch. Like the other residents, Shula is tied to a ribbon which is attached to a coil that perches on a large truck. She is told that should she ever cut the ribbon, she'll be cursed and transformed into a goat.

Jasper Jones 7/30

JASPER JONES is a coming of age story about Charlie Bucktin, a bookish boy of 14. On the night that Jasper Jones, the town's mixed race outcast shows him the dead body of young Laura Wishart, Charlie's life is changed forever. Entrusted with this secret and believing Jasper to be innocent, Charlie embarks on a dangerous journey to find the true killer. Set over the scorching summer holidays of 1969, Charlie defeats the local racists, faces the breakup of his parents and falls head over heels in love as he discovers what it means to be truly courageous.

Lego Club!

Are you a kid who likes to build? Join us for our next Lego Club! Lego Club is open to everybody, and Lego creations are displayed in the Children’s Library between programs.  We supply the Legos, you supply the imagination!

Tiny Explorers!

Friday, 7/5 at 10:30 am

Are you a baby who likes to explore? Join us for this morning of fun! Developed for babies aged birth to 23 months (older siblings are welcome,) Tiny Explorers will find us all shaking, stacking, squishing, smooshing, pounding, picking, placing, and pushing through several sensory stations. Book Tour: Grocery Story by Jon Steinman

Monday, 7/8 at 6:00 pm

Join the author and members of Free Range Food Co-op for a talk and book signing. Through examination of food co-ops, Grocery Story makes a case for the transformation of the grocery store as the emerging frontier in the local food movement.   Location: GRAL Community Room
