The library is closed Monday and Tuesday, December 24 and 25. The library is open Monday, December 31 from 9 am-5pm and closed Tueday, January 1.

This fall, talented Twin Cities based singer/songwriter jeremy messersmith visited Grand Rapids. He played a show at the Reif Center with a band, but also played pop-up concerts around town. The pop-up concerts were done solo playing his ukulele. One of his solo concerts took place at the library and it was awesome! The best part was he, with help from a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, donated 6 ukuleles to the library and now they are ready for checkout.  Each instrument comes in a soft carrying bag with a tuner and a jeremy messersmith songbook. Checkout time is 4 weeks, with no renewal. It can be checked out and returned at the circulation desk. There is no charge for broken strings; however, if it is damaged and major repairs are needed, replacement fees will be charged.

Upcoming Programs

Saturday, December 29: Saturday Story Time. At 10:15 am and 11:15 am it’s time for Saturday Story Time! Join ECFE teachers in the Story Circle for books and songs, then move to the Community Room for a snack, a craft, and a time to play and visit. Families may earn one Baby Steps coupon for attending this Story Time.

 

Friday, January 4: Tiny Explorers! At 10:30 am. This program is geared towards our littlest patrons, ages birth to 23 months. Sensory experiences will be available for babies to explore in a safe environment. Meet other caregivers! Please register at the Children’s Desk by calling 327-8823.
