Library Volunteer Coordinator:

The City of Grand Rapids is seeking applications for a part-time (average 20 hours per week) Library Volunteer Coordinator position to supervise volunteer workers and provide direction, coordination, and consultation for all volunteer functions within the organization.
 Responsibilities include:  Develop, promote, and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities, recruit, interview, and place applicants for volunteer work, develop and oversee program budget, newsletter and volunteer benefits. 
Qualified candidates will have an Associate of Arts degree and 2 years of experience in volunteer management or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Starting pay is $20.37 per hour.  Benefit package includes paid time off, flexible spending, and retirement plan.

Minimum qualifications include High School graduate or GED, possess valid Minnesota State Driver's License, no felony convictions and pass a psychological examination, physical examination; physical agility test. Must be 18 years of age. This is a paid on call position.
The City provides its residents and businesses a full range of municipal services related to public safety (police and fire), public works, parks and recreation, development, and administrative services.  The City operates an ice arena, golf course, and library. These services are provided by quality staff, including 87 full-time and part-time employees, 30 paid-on-call (volunteer) firefighters and 138 seasonal and temporary workers (mostly in recreational programs).
