Police and Fire Departments aid in successful mock crash

The Grand Rapids Police Department and Grand Rapids Fire Department, along with the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office and Meds 1, hosted a successful mock crash for Grand Rapids High School students to illustrate the consequences of distracted and impaired driving.

2015 Polar Plunge

The 2015 Polar Plunge was a huge success thanks to all of the encouragement and help from our  community! 242 brave plungers raised more than $50,000 for Special Olympics athletes. The event couldn’t have taken place without support from law

Volley for the Plunge

  The GRHS Key Club and Grand Rapids Police Department hosted the second annual Volley for the Plunge! The event invites students and community members to come together for a great night of volleyball, with all proceeds going back to Polar

The Grand Rapids Police Department has 19 full-time personnel including: a Chief of Police, Assistant Chief, one Administrative Sergeant, and two Patrol Sergeants, two Investigators, two School Liaison Officers, eleven Patrol Officers, one K-9 team, a Community Service Officer and two administrative assistants. The Grand Rapids Police Department is supported by a 15-member Volunteer Police Reserve Unit.
