New app for audiobooks and ebooks

Overdrive has a new app called Libby. It is sweet!  Visit your App Store/Play Store to get the free app and install it.

Benefits include: Loans and holds consolidated on a single shelf; positions, bookmarks, and notes are kept in sync across devices; keep track of your reading history in the activity tab; easily toggle between the catalog and your loans/holds.

Monday, July 10, 10:00 a.m.: Summer Book Time. Join Tracy in the story circle for stories and songs, then head to the Community Room for a craft and snack!

Monday, July 10, 3:00 p.m.:  Artastic Summer! Join Betsy in the community room for amazing art fun! Open to all ages, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.  Space is limited; register at the Children’s Desk.

Tuesday, July 11, 10:30 a.m.: Lego Club. Are you a kid who likes to build? Join us for our next Lego Club! Lego Club is open to everybody! Lego creations are displayed in the Children’s Library between programs.  We supply the Legos, you supply the imagination!


Tuesday, July 11, 7:30 p.m.: Indies at the Reif Schneider vs. Bax.Netherlands | Dutch  with English subtitles | 96 min. Synopsis: Schneider, a hitman, gets a call from Mertens on the morning of his birthday. He has a last-minute assignment for Schneider who refuses the request because it is his birthday. Mertens insists that it is an important matter. When they meet in Mertens' office, Schneider is told that the target is Ramon Bax, a writer. He lives alone in a secluded place. "It's an easy job. With a little luck you're back home before noon." Schneider accepts the assignment. What was promised to be a simple hit turns out to be more than expected.


Thursday, July 13, 10:00 a.m.: Down by the River. Join wonder-teacher Nancy Mike-Johnson for Down By the River! Spend time outside playing by and learning about the great river that flows through our town.  Appropriate for all ages. Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.


Thursday, July 13, 1:00 pm.: Get Your Ducks in a Row: ABC's of Caregiving presented by Robyn Gunnerson.

No one expects to be a caregiver for their loved ones, but it’s not unusual to be pulled into the role when illness or injury happen.  Learn tips to help caregivers succeed, and the importance of encouraging caregivers to care for themselves as well as their loved ones. Look at challenges and how to’s of long distance caregiving and ways to support caregivers you know.


Friday, July 14, 10:30 a.m.: Mad Science of Minnesota – Mystery of Chemistry. Watch as experiments make things spin, pop, and boom! Open to all ages; most appropriate for kids ages 4-12. No registration required, but seating is limited.  This is a Kids’ Stuff program.


Saturday, July 15, 10:15 a.m. & 11:15 a.m.: Saturday Story Time. Join us for stories, snacks, crafts, and a time to play and visit! Each family may earn one Baby Steps coupon for attending a Story Time.
